Luftwaffe Officer’s Sword with Hanger by SMF
$1,075.00
The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 34 inches, with a blade length of approximately 26-1/4 inches. The blade exhibits few spots but it is without nicks or chips and the plating is largely intact. The blue leather washer is at the top of the blade, and the ricasso of the blade bears the mark of the firm of SMF. The guard, pommel, and the scabbard fittings are aluminum, with the swastikas on the guard and on the pommel retaining most all of their gilt finish. The blue leather covering of the grip shows some spots of wear, scuffs, and abrasions, but it is intact and it remains tightly wrapped with twisted silver wire. The blue leather hanger similarly shows age and wear, but it is complete and intact. Overall very good condition.
