Named 101st Airborne Division Ike Jacket with Bullion Insignia and Free French Paratrooper Wing

$6,250.00

The olive drab wool Ike style jacket displays “U.S.” insignia and the crossed rifle collar insignia of the infantry branch, with the left shoulder having a large toned bullion patch for the 101st Airborne Division. The shoulders have the rank insignia of a First Lieutenant. On the left breast are a bullion paratrooper wing and a bullion Combat Infantry Badge. On the upper right breast is the bullion paratrooper wing of the Free French Forces. The interior is lined in bright red artificial silk, showing some separations. The collar retains the British tailor label, with the interior pocket having a named tailor label. The interior pocket label is named to a “Lt. Errico” with service number “O-793596”. This Ike jacket was acquired with another similar Ike jacket which also belonged to Lt. Errico. That jacket was tagged as a size 40 Short and it bore the same bullion insignia as appear on this jacket, including the Free French Forces paratrooper wing. That jacket also had sewn ribbons which reflected the award of the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, and the European Campaign Medal with three campaign stars (only 456 Silver Stars were awarded to the 101st Airborne Division during World War II). The jacket is in very good condition, showing a few small “pulls” or holes, but without damage or repairs. The jacket is accompanied by Lieutenant Errico’s khaki wool gabardine officer shirt, size 15 inches by 33 inches, with the dark wool necktie.
