The feldmutze is constructed of field gray wool, with a field gray strip of wool having been sewn over the cap band, presumably to camouflage the cap’s red wool cap band. The exterior of the cap is generally very clean, without holes, damage or repairs. The front of the cap bears the national colors and Prussian colors cockades, with the white areas of the cockades having toned to an almost orange color. The interior of the cap bears a unit stamp as well as a military depot stamp and the stamp of a costume company. Overall the cap is in very good condition.
