Early Uncleaned Luftwaffe Officer Sword by SMF
$1,075.00
The Model 1934 Luftwaffe officer’s sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 36-1/2 inches, with a blade length of approximately 26-1/2 inches. The nickel plated blade shows shows spots and smudges, but the blade is generally bright. The riccaso bears the maker mark of the firm of SMF. The blue leather washer is in place at the top of the blade. The blue leather covering of the grip is intact, showing age but retaining the twisted wire wrapping. The guard and pommel all show a dark and untouched patina. There is a small indentation to the edge of the pommel on one side. The sunwheel swastikas on the guard and the opposite side of the pommel have an uncleaned patina and appear to retain the gilt finish on the swastikas beneath the patina. The blue leather scabbard has a few typical scratches but the leather covering is complete and intact. The scabbard fittings, like the sword components, show uncleaned patina. Overall the sword is in a very good untouched and uncleaned condition.
