Imperial Prussian Artillery Officer Pickelhaube

The body of the leather pickelhaube displays a fine shape and excellent polish, with typical fine age crazing to the front and rear visors. The gilt Prussian front plate, the fish scale chin strap, the front visor edge, the ball top, ball top base, and the rear spine all show an uncleaned patina and age toning, with the front wappen Prussian eagle plate retaining virtually all ot its fire gilt finish beneath the patina. The ball top and its base similarly show much retained gilt finish underneath the patina. The interior has its wide leather sweatband and the interior silk lining is intact, showing some splits and separations in the lining material. Overall the helmet is in very good condition and it makes an excellent appearance.
