The blade of the dagger shows spots and smudges as well as surface pitting. The reverse side bears the maker mark of C. Lütters & Co. (Löwenwerk) of Solingen. The black Bakelite grip plates are without chips or cracks. The obverse grip plate bears the enamel Hitler Youth diamond, which is without damage. Both the guard and the pommel exhibit wear to the plated surfaces, giving them a matte gray appearance. There are chips and scratches to the scabbard paint.
