Named Vietnam War Airborne Medical Officer Uniforms, Medals, Documents and Photographs Group

$575.00

The group is comprised of the uniforms, medals, documents, and photographs of Lieutenant Robert J. Templeton, an officer of the 82nd Airborne Division who served in Vietnam in the Army Medical Service Corps at the 67th Evacuation Hospital. The group is comprised of Templeton’s Class “A” uniform, with jacket, trousers, and overseas cap. The uniform displays the collar insignia of the Army Medical Service Corps and ribbons reflecting Vietnam War service. The shoulders have the rank insignia of a First Lieutenant  as well as the distinctive unit insignia of the 67th Evacuation Hospital. On the left shoulder is the patch of the 82nd Airborne Division. The tunic also displays a paratrooper wing as well as the Fourragère of the French Croix de Guerre. The uniform includes the matching trousers as well as the overseas cap. The uniform is in very good condition. The group also includes an olive drab fatigue shirt with subdued cloth insignia as well as Lieutenant Templeton’s jungle jacket from his Vietnam service. The jungle jacket is well worn, with multiple holes and separations. The front displays a theater made patch of the 67th Evacuation Hospital, with a subdued shoulder patch for the Army Military Assistance Command in Vietnam. The group includes Lieutenant Templeton’s medal bar, with the three medals reflecting Vietnam service as well as the National Defense Medal. The group contains four military publications relating to Templeton’s training and his service in Vietnam. Also with the group is a statue of a paratrooper, approximately 9-3/4 inches tall, with a plaque on the base reflecting its presentation to Lieutenant Templeton. The group further includes a binder with multiple photographs and documents bearing on his military service. The photographs are approximately 8 inches by 10 inches in size. The documents are primarily photocopies but cover the length of Templeton’s service. The documents include a copy of a letter written to Templeton’s parents by the Commanding General of the 82nd Airborne Division praising Templeton’s service, his character, and his professionalism (apparently Templeton’s father was serving as a Colonel in the Army Medical Corps at that time). All of the items in the group are in very good condition.
