The leather surface of the helmet shows typical scuffs and scratches, as well as age crazing. The artillery ball top, the base, the front visor edge, the rear spine, and the front Baden wappen plate all show some loss of finish as well as patina. The helmet has the national colors and Prussian colors cockades as well as a replacement chin strap. The Prussian front plate is retained on the helmet through two holes. The liner is mostly present on the interior, with the tops of the leather tongues being torn away from the liner. The helmet shows age and signs of wear, but it retains a very good shape and overall it is in good condition.
