The exterior finish of the helmet exterior is generally intact, showing typical scuffs and scratches, as well as surface grime and spots of loss of finish. The spike and the spike base show uncleaned patina. The gray metal Prussian wappen helmet plate remains affixed to the front, having wear to the finish and presenting a dark appearance. A replacement leather chin strap is present across the front of the helmet. The national colors cockade and the Prussian colors cockade are present on the helmet. The leather liner is intact on the interior, showing expected signs of wear and use, with the tops of the leather tongues being torn and one of the tongues being partially torn through below the tip. The interior bears a date stamp of 1916. The interior rear rim is marked as a size 59. Overall very good field used condition.
