WWI Austro-Hungarian Model 1917 Combat Helmet by C. A. Scholtz

The exterior surfaces of the helmet retain much of the field brown paint, with scuffs, scratches and stains, as well as some surface rust. The liner is no longer present, although the liner band is intact. The fabric chin strap is also present, with the buckle fastener being torn off of the strap and the opposite side having a tear through much of the strap. The interior side of the helmet is marked “C.A.S. 66”, reflecting a size 66 helmet shell that was manufactured by the firm of C. A. Scholtz, Mateocz, of Sloeakeiin in present day Slovakia.
