WWI German Model 1917 Combat Helmet by Hermann Weissenburger & Co.

The exterior field gray paint is largely intact, showing some spots and scratches, and with the left side showing remnants of a shield shaped insignia. The interior has three white leather chrome tanned pads. The full leather chin strap is present, attached by square bales to the metal liner band. The interior side of the helmet bears the mark of “W. 66”, reflecting a size 66 helmet shell that was manufactured by the firm of Hermann Weissenburger & Company of Stuttgart-Cannstatt. Overall very good condition.
