WWI German Model 1916 Combat Helmet with Totenkopf Freikorps Insignia

The exterior retains much of its exterior green paint , showing some spots, scratches, and areas of paint loss. The front of the helmet bears a painted totenkopf. The interior liner pads are present, attached to a leather liner band. Two of the tongues on the top of the front liner pad are torn. The interior has an indistinct manufacturer code and size, with the code appearing to be the “E.T.” mark of the Eisenhuttenwerke firm. The helmet is lacking the chin strap. Overall the helmet makes a very good appearance.
