Wehrpass of a German Infantry Feldwebel Killed in Action in 1943 with Photographs

The wehrpass was issued to Feldwebel Siegfried Zinke of Infantry Regiment 234 of the 56th Infantry Division. Zinke was trained as a public official and he worked for three years as an administrator before the war. He originally served with the 209th Infantry Division during the Polish and French campaigns, later transferring to the 234th Infantry Regiment. He was awarded the Russian Front Campaign Medal, the 1939 Iron Cross Second Class, the Wound Badge in black, and the Infantry Assault Badge, all in 1942. Zinke was killed in action in Russia by virtue of a neck wound on July 12, 1943. The wehrpass includes two postcard sized portrait photographs. Overall very good condition.
