Cased Imperial Prussian Artillery Officer Pickelhaube

The surfaces of the leather helmet show typical cracks and age crazing, but the helmet retains a very good shape and it displays a generally good polish. The Imperial Prussian front plate is retained through two holes in the front of the helmet. The front brass edge of the visor, the fire gilt wappen front plate, the spike, the spike base, and the rear spine all show an uncleaned patina, with much gilt retained on the front plate. The helmet displays Prussian and national colors officer cockades. A brass “fish scale” chin strap is present. The full silk liner is intact on the interior, as is the leather sweatband. Overall the helmet is in very good condition and it makes a fine appearance. The black leather case exhibits relatively minor scuffs and signs of age, and the leather closure strap is missing.
