Imperial Baden Pioneer Officer Pickelhaube

The surfaces of the leather helmet show cracks, some surface bubbling, and age crazing, with a few scuffs, but the helmet retains a good shape. The Imperial Baden front plate is retained through two holes in the front of the helmet. The front metal edge of the visor, the wappen front plate, the spike, the spike base, and the rear spine all show an uncleaned patina with spots, surface grime and verdigris. The helmet displays Prussian and national colors officer cockades. A gilted brass “fish scale”chin strap is present, spike base stars also gilted. The full leather silk is intact on the interior, and an interior paper manufacturer’s label is retained on the inside front of the helmet. Overall the helmet is in good condition and it makes a nice appearance.
