Imperial Japanese Type 18 Murata Bayonet with Chrysanthemum

The bayonet was used with the Meiji 18 Murata rifle. The blade is dark and it exhibits surface grime, spots, and scratches from use in the field. The guard and the pommel similarly show spots and uncleaned patina. The guard displays a maker mark on one side with the chrysanthemum mark on the opposite side of the guard. The blade ricasso also bears a maker mark. The pommel is unnumbered. The wood grips have age toning as well as chips and pock marks from wear in the field but they are intact. The bayonet is lacking the scabbard. Overall the bayonet is in good field used condition.
