Imperial Japanese Type 18 Murata Bayonet with Chrysanthemum in World War II Scabbard

The bayonet was used with the Meiji 18 Murata rifle. The blade exhibits surface grime, mossy spots, and scratches from use in the field. The guard and the pommel similarly show spots and a dark and uncleaned patina. The guard displays a maker mark on one side with the chrysanthemum mark on the opposite side of the guard. The pommel is serial numbered. The wood grips have age toning as well as pock marks from wear in the field but as well as a split in one wood grip plate around the upper screw, although the grips are complete and intact. The bayonet is within a World War II steel scabbard, retaining its dark finish. Overall the bayonet is in good field used condition.
