Imperial Japanese Type 18 Murata Bayonet with Chrysanthemum

The bayonet was used with the Meiji 18 Murata rifle. The blade exhibits surface grime, spots, and scratches from use in the field. The guard and the pommel similarly show spots and uncleaned patina. The guard displays a maker mark on one side with the chrysanthemum mark on the opposite side of the guard.The pommel is serial numbered. The wood grips have age toning as well as minor pock marks from wear in the field but they are without damage. One grip plate is impressed with a number. The bayonet is lacking the scabbard. Overall the bayonet is in good field used condition.
