Imperial German M1898 n/A Bayonet by WKC with Frog and Knot

The bayonet has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 26-3/4 inches. The blade is generally clean, with scattered dark spots and some surface pitting towards the point. The ricasso bears the maker mark of the firm of Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie., while the spine of the blade bears a proof mark of a crown over indistinct letters or numbers. The bayonet guard shows a numeric stamp. The bayonet is the “new” model with a two piece wood grip. The grip plates exhibit age toning and a period surface chip on one side. The leather scabbard is complete and intact. The frog has some loss of stitching but it, too, is intact. The fabric knot has some damage. Overall good field used condition.
