Imperial Prussian Reserve Officer Pickelhaube with Cloth Cover

The exterior leather body of the helmet shows scuffs and abrasions, with impressions on the front visor from the pressure of the fish scale chin strap, but the helmet retains a fine shape and displays a good polish. The chin strap, front visor edge, front plate, spike and spike base all show an uncleaned patina and age toning over the fire gilt finish. The base plate of the spike is lacking one of its star rivets. The helmet retains both the Prussian and national colors officer grade cockades. The interior silk lining has some seperations but it is largely intact. The field gray cloth cover displays spots and stains from use in the field, with a small separation as well as a few small holes, but it is complete. Overall both the helmet and its accompanying cover are in very good condition and make a very impressive appearance.
