WWII Japanese Type 95 NCO Sword by Tokyo Arsenal with Matching Numbers

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 38 inches, with a blade length of approximately 26 inches. The blade is quite bright, showing typical spots and scratches,  but it is without nicks, chips, or active rust. The blade is numbered “90951”, positioned to be read with the cutting edge of the blade facing down, indicating production by the Tokyo Arsenal. The same number appears on the surface of the scabbard throat. The tsuba guard is the plain solid iron variety. The copper fuchi collar at the base of the grip bears the marks of the Suya Sword Company as well as the mark of the Kokura Arsenal. The painted metal grip exhibits age and wear. The metal scabbard shows typical wear to the painted finish from use in the field, with surface grime and abrasions, but the scabbard is intact. Overall the sword is in very good field used condition.
