Identified Cased Bronze Star Group to a WAAC in Italy

The group is comprised of a cased Bronze Star decoration, unnamed as awarded in the theater of operations. It is contained within its titled black leather case, together with the ribbon bar. The group further includes a wartime photograph of WAAC Corporal Miriam M. Bailey being awarded the Bronze Star by Lieutenant General Lucian Truscott, Jr., at a ceremony in Italy. The photograph is approximately 4-3/4 inches by 6-3/4 inches, with a printed caption on the reverse and a separately affixed typed caption. The group further includes an Italian made 5th Army shoulder patch; a WAAC shoulder tab; “U.S.” and “WAAC” collar disks; loose buttons; a pair of Technical Corporal rank chevrons; two overseas service chevrons; individua ribbons for the Army Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, and the Victory Medal; and a sewing kit. Overall very good condition.
