WWII 796th Military Police Battalion Austria Occupation Lieutenant Colonel’s Helmet Liner

The helmet liner is a Westinghouse example, bearing the painted insignia of the 796th Military Police Battalion. The front displays the painted rank insignia of a Lieutenant Colonel – shows additional mounting holes. The exterior has minor scuffs but overall the liner is in excellent condition. The Battalion served in the European Theater of Operations in World War II, and was made inactive in Austria in 1946.
