The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 36-1/2 inches, with a blade length of approximately 30-1/2 inches. The nickel plated blade is generally quite bright, showing some typical spots and scratches. The ricasso bears the scales trademark of the Alcoso firm. The black celluloid grip is without chips or cracks and it remains triple wrapped with wire. The guard, knuckle bow, back strap and pommel all show some wear to the gilt over brass finish, while exhibiting fine detail to the oak leaf decorations. The langet displays a closed wing eagle and swastika.The scabbard shows wear to the black paint, with areas of surface rust and a small shallow dent. The drag of the scabbard has a small hole that was placed into the drag.
