Small Meissen China Plate from A-H’s Eagle’s Nest Tea House with Capture Note

The Meissen “Red Dragon” pattern porcelain plate is approximately 5-7/8 inches in diameter. The reverse has a large handwritten label affixed, with the statement that the plate was taken from Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest by war correspondent Henry J. Taylor, who later would serve as the United States Ambassador to Switzerland under Dwight Eisenhower. The plate is without chips or cracks and it is in excellent condition.
