Imperial German Railway Stein

A pottery 1/2 liter stein for a member of the Imperial German Railways, approximately 11 1/2 inches tall overall. The stein features a central design of a steam locomotive with another image of a steam train passing over a bridge. The stein also bears the declaration of “Mit volldampf voraus. Allzeit treu fur Kaiser und Reich” (“With full steam ahead. Always faithful to Kaiser and country.”). The lid features an iron cross design in relief and the engraved initials of “F.W.” with a crown between the letters. The finial is a crown while the thumb lift features the winged wheel insignia of the railway system. The base carries the “Ges. Gesch” mark.
