Pre WWII 17th Pursuit Squadron Fuselage Insignia
$2,600.00
Circa 1932. The painted fabric squadron insignia of the 17th Pursuit Squadron of the 1st Pursuit Group, removed from a Boeing P-12D pursuit biplane. The insignia depicts an American eagle going in for the attack, with its sharp talons spread and ready to strike. The insignia is approximately 15 by 18 inches in size. The corner of a typed label is affixed to the front edge of the insignia which identifies the unit, location, and type of aircraft from which the insignia was taken. This same information is written on the back of the insignia in pencil. The insignia shows expected signs of a piece of fabric that was once a part of a flying fighter plane, but overall the insignia is in very good condition.
