1939 United States Consulate in Munich Document
$45.00
The group is comprised of three separate documents. One of these is approximately 6-5/8 inches by 8-1/4 inches. This is a two sided document which, on one side, bears a stamped attestation that Joachim Wolff had received the degree of Doctor of Medicine from the University of Wurzburg in 1933. The opposite side is a confirmation that the document was reviewed and accepted by the United States Consulate in Munich in April of 1939. This side has a rubber stamp as well as the signature of the Bavarian Minister of Education and Culture. It also has the certification stamp as well as the impressed U.S. Consulate stamp, signed by the Vice-Consul of the United States in Munich. The document was likely prepared to verify that Dr. Wolff was indeed a medical doctor, as a part of his intention to emigrate to the United States, where his education and professional qualifications would have been an important aspect of him receiving an immigration visa. Very good condition, with fold lines. Also present are two unrelated 1942 documents. One of these is a communication from the Handwerkskammer (Crafts Association) in Chemnitz. Approximately 8-1/4 inches by 11-1/2 inches, with fold lines. The third document is a 1942 Notice from the Finance Office in Chemnitz. Approximately 8-1/4 inches by 11-5/8 inches, with the document having fold lines and tears.
