WWII Balloon Observer Embroidered Wings

Full size wings, the wings being 3 inches wide, embroidered in white thread on chocolate brown ribbed wool for wear on the Army Air force officer’s tunic. The overall width is 4 1/4 inches. Unused condition. This wing was obsolete by World War II, but it was produced for wear by former World War I aviators who were filling the ranks of the staff and planning officers in the Army Air Force in World War II.
