Pre WWI French Officer Kepi

The black wool kepi shows storage dust and wear, but it is without holes or damage and overall it is quite clean. The front displays an embroidered gold bullion “62”. Both the embroidered unit number and the gold bullion rank embellishments show age toning. The surface of the black leather visor exhibits age crazing and some flaking of the top and bottom surfaces. The interior leather sweatband is present, showing wear but being intact. There is a faint stamp underneath the sweatband. The interior is lined with blue silk, which is also intact. Overall the kepi is in very good condition.
