Non Portable Luftwaffe Award from the Commanding General of Luftgau XI

The award is a marble square, approximately 3-1/8 inches by 3-1/8 inches. The obverse has affixed to it a silver Luftwaffe eagle above the raised presentation of “Leutnant Klaus Linke fur Hervorragende Leistung Der Kommandierendegeneral und Befehlshaber im Luftgau XI” (“Lieutenant Klaus Linke for Outstanding Performance [from] The Commanding General and Commander in Air District XI”). The underside of the award bears the incised annotation of “S.W. 1942”. The award has a subtle crack which runs vertically the length of the award from top to bottom. The award shows no loss of material or lack of integrity.
