1942 Dated German Army Pith Helmet with G.I. Capture Annotation

The pith helmet shows spots and soiling, with both metal shields being intact and showing some verdigris. The leather trim on the pith helmet rim has scuffs. The band at the base of the helmet crown bears the G.I. annotation of “Bizerte Tunisia May 1943”. The interior leather sweatband is present and maker marked, while the underside of the sweatband has the stamp of “ORL 1942”. The chin strap is partially present but broken. Overall good field used condition.
