1918 Dated German Gas Mask in Carrying Canister

The gas mask with leather face mask shows age and use, but the lenses are generally clear and the mask is supple. All attachment straps are intact. The exterior of the carrying canister shows wear and use, with some rust and indentations, but the canister is intact. The canister lacks the carrying strap, however the compartment inside of the canister lid appears to contain another carrying strap. The base of the canister is stamped with the date of “1 Sept. 1918”. Overall very good field used condition.
