The cap is constructed in a high quality fine ribbed blue wool. The visor of the cap is embroidered with gold bullion oak leaves to reflect the rank of a field grade officer. The cap band is light blue, indicating service in the infantry branch. The gold bullion oak leaves, chin strap, and borders of the blue infantry cap band all show age toning. The full interior leather sweatband is present, as is the interior lining, with the lining having the label of the German clothier which made the cap. The cap is dusty and the crown is a bit flattened from storage, but overall the cap is in very good condition, without holes or damage.
