19th Century Chinese Sword

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 29 inches, with a blade length of approximately 21-1/2 inches. The blade is generally bright while showing spots and signs of age but without nicks, chips, or active rust. The brass guard and pommel show a very dark and uncleaned patina. The wood grips show age but they are without chips or cracks. The mounts on the wood scabbard exhibit verdigris and uncleaned patina. The wood scabbard is intact and without damage. The upper scabbard fitting has a whitened rectangle on the fitting which appears might have been created for the placement of a collection inventory number.
