WWII Fixed Bale M1 Combat Helmet with Korean War U.S. Marine Corps Camouflage Cover

The helmet cover shows wear and use, with spots and with typical small holes on the edges where the cover was wrapped under the edge of the helmet shell and in the locations where it covered the fixed bales. The cover is manufacturer marked and dated 1953. The cover is quite tight against the helmet shell, reflecting the fact that the cover has been on the helmet for many decades. The web chin strap remains present on one side of the helmet, with the chin strap on the opposite side being torn away close to the bale. The liner is a CAPAC example, showing interior wear and use, with the exterior of the liner exhibiting loss of much of the olive drab paint. Overall the helmet shows great character and it is in overall very good field used condition.
