16th Century Spanish Cabasset Helmet
$1,850.00
Circa 1580 to 1630. The iron Spanish Cabasset helmet is approximately 9 inches tall, one piece construction, with a typical “pear stalk” at the apex and a flat brim. The front of the helmet displays a crest that is approximately 1-3/4 inches long. The exterior base of the helmet bears 11 rosette rivets, with a twelfth rivet missing. The brim has a small hole on each side, presumably for the attachment of a chin strap. The helmet exterior exhibits a dark and uncleaned patina and it is without holes, damage or repairs, and it makes an impressive appearance.
