The cap is constructed of olive green wool with a red wool cap band and red piping. The body of the cap as well as the cap band show tracking as well as a few small scattered holes. The surface of the visor exhibits age crazing. The leather chin strap is present, secured by gilt officer cherry blossom buttons. The interior leather sweatband is present, as is the interior lining, which has a few small holes. The lining bears stitched kanji, undoubtedly the name of the officer who owned the cap. The cap has a fine saddle shape and it makes a very good appearance.
