Old family Katana which measures 39-1/2 inches overall with a 25-1/2 inch blade with a clear straight temper line. The blade is bright with no nicks or rust but with a few inclusions, unsigned tang with 2 holes. The sword’s ray skin grip is wrapped in the traditional style with black/blue/white fabric, with the wrap showing little wear. Beneath the wrapping are matching menuki. The hammered iron tsuba measures 3-1/8 X 3-3/8 inches. Wood scabbard with textured black lacquer shows a few repairs but nothing distracting. Overall a very attractive sword.
