German Hunting Association Cutlass by Carl Eickhorn

The cutlass has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 25 inches, with a blade length of approximately 16-1/2 inches. The blade has etched panels on both sides which display decorative military motifs. The blade shows spots and age, but it is generally clean and without chips, nicks, or active rust. On one side the ricasso displays the trademark of the Carl Eickhorn firm that was in use from 1921 to 1933 along with the number “52”. The opposite side of the ricasso bears the mark of “Waffen-Loesche Magdeburg”, this being the retail mark of the business of Adolf Loesche. A leather washer remains in place at the top of the blade. The cutlass has The brass guard, fittings, pommel, and acorns on the grip all show an uncleaned patina. The stag grip has a fine golden brown color and the grip is without chips or cracks. The leather scabbard exhibits scuffs and wear, but the scabbard is complete and intact.
