Post War – May 26, 1945 Police Dienstausweis

Approximately 2-3/4 inches by 4 inches when closed. The cloth document reflects the fact that the German police forces of the Third Reich continued to be retained and used by the Allied Occupation authorities after the German surrender. The document is dated May 26, 1945, less than three weeks after the surrender. The swastika of the police eagle on the cover was erased, as were the swastikas of the police stamps on the interior. The cloth document shows some spots and a file folder hole, but overall the document is in very good condition.
