Siberian Expeditionary Force Unit Marked Model 1917 Combat Helmet
$375.00
The exterior of the helmet shows minor indentations, scuffs, and surface rust consistent with use in the theater of operations. The interior liner pad is present, while the liner itself and the chin strap are missing. The interior of the helmet is painted with dates, locations, and unit markings, to include “Stok Siberia” (undoubtedly referring to the Russian city of Vladivostok in Siberia); “Aug. 21-18. – 1920” and “Co. I 31st Inf. A.E.F.S.”. The 31st Infantry Regiment left the Philippine Islands for Vladivostok, Siberia, on August 21 of 1918, and were ordered withdrawn by President Wilson in January of 1920.
