WWI British Brodie Helmet Converted to U.S. WWII Civil Defense Auxiliary Police Helmet

The helmet retains most of the exterior textured brown painted finish, showing typical scuffs, abrasions, and spots of surface rust. The front of the British Brodie helmet was painted with the insignia of an auxiliary policemen in the Civil Defense organization. The liner band remains present on the interior. The leather chin strap, while present, is quite dry and broken.
