1943 Police Dienstausweis with Photograph

Cloth Third Reich police service identification document with photograph, issued in 1943 in Hamburg. Approximately 2-3/4 inches by 4-1/8 inches when closed. The document had the swastika on the cover blacked out, and the photograph exhibits not only Third Reich Police issue stamps but an Allied Military Police stamp, which reflects the fact that the Allies continued to use the German Police as a part of the occupation government following the German surrender. The document shows age, with a very small piece gone from the bottom corner of the front cover.
