The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 20-1/2 inches, with a blade length of approximately 13-1/2 inches. The blade is generally bright in appearance, with surface dirt, scattered spots, and verdigris. The spine displays various marks, including the name of Stortz Sohn. The red felt washer is in place at the top of the ricasso. The plated finish on the clamshell guard, the ferrule, and the pommel cap is largely intact and bright. The stag grip shows some dark spots within the recesses of the surface. The leather scabbard has typical age cracks and scuffs, but it is complete and intact and without seam separations. The scabbard fittings have an uncleaned patina.
