WWII U.S. Marine Corps Front Seam, Fixed Bale, M1 Combat Helmet with Third Pattern U.S.M.C. HBT “Frog Skin” Camouflage Cover

$650.00

The reversible herringbone twill camouflage cover is the third pattern, without foliage slits, and while is shows expected fading and a few small holes on the edge lines, the cover is complete and intact. The helmet interior exhibits some spots of rust, with no discernible heat stamp. The full fabric chin strap is present across the rear of the helmet, having an early raised bar connector, with the closure clasps showing a loss of finish and verdigris. The helmet liner is a Westinghouse model, with complete interior webbing. The exterior of the liner shows no remaining olive green paint. The interior rear nape strap is manufacturer marked, dated 1944, and bears the inked annotation of “U.S.M.C.”. The liner chin strap remains present. Overall very good to excellent field used condition.
