WWII Era Named and Cased Purple Heart to a World War I 79th Division Veteran with Document
$375.00
The Purple Heart is a World War II period production example on a slot brooch suspension. It is named with official Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot hand engraving to “Ralph S. Myers”. The medal is within its titled black leather case. It is accompanied by an original extract from Special Orders Number 84 of the Headquarters of the 316th Infantry Regiment of the 79th Division, dated December 8,1918. The extract identifies Sergeant Ralph S. Myers as being authorized to wear the wound chevron for wounds sustained in the Argonne drive of September 26 to October 1 in 1918. The case shows some spots and scuffs. The document exhibits age and fold lines but it is intact and legible. The medal is in excellent condition.
