WWII U.S. Navy Mark 2 Ka-Bar Fighting Knife

The blade shows typical wear to the finish on the high points. The guard bears both the u.S. Navy MK 2 designation as well as the KA-BAR designation. The leather washer grip shows expected wear but it is without damage. The owner of the knife performed some period embellishment with red and blue paint on the top sections of the grip, with that paint now being largely worn away. The pommel and the guard were painted gold. The leather sheath has what appear to be the name of the owner and his service number scratched into the surfaces. There is a small hole in the front top corner of the sheath where it appears that there was at one time an additional rivet was inserted into the leather. Overall very good field used condition.
