Long Luftwaffe Single Sided Etched Dress Bayonet with Biplane and Brown Frog

The dress bayonet has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 15-1/2 inches. The blade is generally bright, with surface dirt and grime such that the blade would likely benefit from a careful cleaning. The blade shows a few small spots to the plating. One side of the bayonet is etched with the “In Memory of My Service Time” dedication, flanking a biplane. The ricasso on this side bears the thermometer mark of the Holler firm. The black Bakelite grip plates are without chips or cracks. The guard and the pommel both exhibit patina and speckling of the plated surfaces. The wool insert is gone from the rifle slot. The scabbard paint shows scuffs and pock marks but it is largely intact. The brown leather frog shows age and wear but it is complete and intact. Overall very good condition.
