Six Letters to SS Obergruppenfuhrer Friedrich-Wilhelm Kruger, with Two Letters From Himmler, Two From Karl Wolf, and One From Hans Lammers

Friedrich-Wilhelm Krüger  was a German war criminal and paramilitary commander who served as a high-ranking member of the SA and the SS. Between 1939 and 1943 he was the Higher SS and Police Leader in the General Government, giving him command of all police and security forces in German-occupied Poland. In this capacity he organized and supervised numerous crimes against humanity and had major responsibility for the German genocide of the Polish nation: the extermination of six million Poles (three million of them Polish Jews) and massive destruction, degradation and impoverishment of the Polish state. At the end of the war he committed suicide.

The six letters in the group include:

– A letter from Heinrich Himmler dated May 2, 1931, before the Nazi assumption of power in 1933. The letter is on the stationary of the Headquarters of the Schutzstaffel of the Nazi Party, and it deals with a message that Himmler had received from Kruger’s brother. Approximately 7-5/8 inches by 8-3/4 inches, with some edge chips. Two file punch holes are present.

– A letter from Heinrich Himmler dated in April of 1942, written from the Fuhrerhauptquartier. Himmler advises Kruger that SS Standartenfuhrer Hammer, then in the Warthegau, was not demonstrating the diligence that Himmler had expected of him. Approximately 8 inches by 11-1/2 inches. The document shows fold lines and edge chips. Two file punch holes are present.

– A letter from SS General Karl Wolf, signed by Wolf as Chief of the Personal Staff of Himmler, dated April 19, 1938, and dealing with payments to SS personnel.

– A letter from SS General Karl Wolf, signed by Wolf as Chief of the Personal Staff of Himmler, dated August 16, 1938. regarding a monthly stipend to be paid to Kruger each month from the funds of the Personal Staff of the Reichsfuhrer SS. Approximately 8-1/4 inches by 11-5/8 inches. Two file punch holes are present.

– A communication dated July 3, 1935, from Dr. Hans Lammers, and signed by Lammers, State Secretary and Chief of the Reich Chancellery, regarding a communication with Reichsminister Frank no doubt Hans Frank). Approximately 8 inches by 10-1/4 inches. Two file punch holes are present.

– An onionskin document dated December 1, 1941, advising Kruger that Himmler had approved his leave and wished him a good rest. Approximately 8 inches by 11-1/4 inches, bearing the signature of an SS Sturmbannfuhrer. The document has two file holes and a small burn hole in the upper corner.

– A document dated September 15, 1934, on the letterhead of “Der Oberburgermeister”, approximately 8 inches by 11-1/2 inches. Two file holes are present on the edge.

– Two mailing envelopes, both addressed to Kruger and both with cancels bearing dates in 1935.
